Brandon Cast in CBS Comedy Pilot PARTNERS

According to Deadline.com, Brandon has been cast in a half-hour comedy pilot for CBS called PARTNERS starring his TABLE FOR THREE co-star Sophia Bush and UGLY BETTY's Michael Urie.

The comedy comes from the minds of Mutchnick and Kohan of WILL & GRACE.

The multicamera comedy, from Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, centers on lifelong friends and business partners —architects Charlie, who is straight, and Louis (Urie), who is gay. Routh, repped by UTA and Main Title, will play Louis’ steady partner, a former alcoholic, club-hopping model, now a sober, vegan nurse.

Hollywood Reporter has the official synopsis:

A personal story of two lifelong friends and their business partners. Architects Charlie and Louis' friendship has lasted longer than either of their romantic relationships and almost seems like a weird marriage. When Charlie decides to propose to his girlfriend, Louis' neurotic attempts to be supportive nearly result in the breakup of his own relationship.

CROOKED ARROWS Reshoots in LA Plus New Phoots

For the past several days, the CROOKED ARROWS cast and crew reunited to re-shoot some scenes for the movie in the Los Angeles area. Based on pictures trickling in from the set, it appears production is enhancing the big lacrosse finals against their prep school rivals.

Note that re shooting scenes is a very common occurrence in the industry. An extra from the film set claims on the official Facebook page that the cast and crew have reshot a new ending for the film.

Brandon to Play in 2012 ELeague

With 7 days left before the official trailer for CROOKED ARROWS debuts, it was just announced that Brandon will join CROOKED ARROWS producers in Philadelphia, PA January 13-15 to help debut said trailer at the US National Lacrosse Convention at 7PM on the 13th which will also debut on Facebook.com/USLacrosse at the same time. In addition, Brandon will be signing autographs and speaking to the media about the film.

Routh also will participate in a meet and greet/autograph session at the "Crooked Arrows" booth from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the US Lacrosse Fan Fest. Immediately following his appearance at Fan Fest, Routh will meet with the media.

"Crooked Arrows" chronicles the unlikely rise of a Native American team to a prep school league championship and is slated for release in theaters during the spring 2012 lacrosse season. Routh stars as Joe Logan, who is tasked with coaching his Native American reservation’s high school lacrosse team against the better equipped and better trained players of the elite Prep School League.

Superfan Gets Super Call from Superman

Earlier this month, a mentally disabled Superman fan, Mike Meyer, from Missouri had his entire Superman collection worth $4,000-$5,000 stolen from him. Subsequently, a big internet movement emerged to help locate/replace his collection. Last week, police were able to locate and return Mike's prized collection. In that same week, Mike received a phone call from Superman himself, Brandon Routh, where they discussed all things Superman.

They touched on the making of the "Superman Returns" movie, thetheft of Meyer's collection (which was subsequently returned whenpolice made an arrest in the case), Meyer's memorabilia collection,scenes from the 2006 movie — which Meyer said he has seen 14 timesin movie theaters and many more times on DVD — and past actors whohave played the role.

The short film has screening dates: 9/22 and 9/26! The director has unveiled the poster for the short film. Some of the cast is set to attend, according to the festival's blog.

COST OF LIVING, the short film Brandon shot over the summer, is set to premiere this summer at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX at the Alamo Drafthouse. The festival runs September 22-29.

MISSING WILLIAM director Kenn MacRae has tweeted us a picture of him and his post-production crew working hard on finishing up the film for audiences. The image features Brandon and wife Courtney Ford.

Brandon to Walk for Healthiest State Initiative

August 13 marks the final day of shooting lacrosse scenes for the Spring 2012 film CROOKED ARROWS. Many extras were on-hand in Danvers, MA to be apart of the action in which the Crooked Arrows try to defeat their prep school rivals Coventry Academy.

LaxMagazine.com was on the set and details their experience and thoughts about the snippets of film they've seen so far:

The clip revealed a dramatic locker room scene in which Routh's character, Logan, tells the Crooked Arrows, "We play to honor our ancestors who were buried with their sticks. We play to honor our grandchildren, who will be given sticks when they're born."

Crooked Arrows is pleased to announce that Chelsea Ricketts and Crystal Allen will be joining our cast.

Ricketts will play Nadie, Joe’s younger sister and an avid lacrosse player. Allen will be featured as Julie, the local school teacher and Joe’s former flame. Previously announced, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) will play the Crooked Arrows’ reluctant head lacrosse coach Joe Logan and Gil Birmingham (The Twilight Saga) will be Joe’s father, Ben Logan.

Ricketts recently appeared as the lead in Royal Reunion and Missionary Man. She has appeared in several television shows, such as CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, and Melrose Place. Gil Birmingham has appeared in over 40 movie and film productions, best known for his work in the Twilight movies, starring in each movie of the series as Billy Black – Jacob’s father. He will be a great addition to our cast as he is an American actor of Comanche ancestry.

Brandon's latest film project, CROOKED ARROWS, starts shooting August 1 in Boston, MA. The movie is being described as "The Mighty Ducks" meets lacrosse. Apparently, lacrosse is a sport that is gaining popularity throughout the United States with its origins deriving from Native American Indians, which the movie will reportedly center around.

A mixed-blood Native American, Joe Logan, eager to modernize his reservation, must first prove himself to his father, the traditionalist Tribal Chairman, by rediscovering his spirit. Brandon in Iowa for Volunteer Effort

This weekend Brandon is in his hometown of Norwalk, Iowa to help with construction efforts at a local non-profit educational center, one where his mother teaches at. Various folks from AmeriCorps and ServiceNation banded together in Sunday's day of service. (View photos)

"It's a neat thing. I think we need more things like this to bring our communities together," said Brandon Routh. "Not only when we have a disaster, a tornado or earthquake or something like that, should we come together. We can be doing this every weekend in communities," he said.

Superman Homepage received a copy of the Superman Anthology blu-ray set which includes the highly anticipated deleted opening sequence of SUPERMAN RETURNS, "Return to Krypton."

A small speck moves through the stars of space. We then move inside a crystal capsule, with crystals growing and changing in front of our eyes. Lights reveals a space inside the craft within which we find Kal-El, wearing a tight-fitting grey-ish suit with S on his chest. He rises and walks to a crystal control panel (which rises to meet his touch).

SupermanCelebration.net announced today that Brandon will be attending the Superman Celebration event in Metropolis, IL on June 11 to sign autographs for fans. Sam Huntington who played Jimmy Olsen in SUPERMAN RETURNS and recently co-starred alongside Brandon in DYLAN DOG will be attending as well.

Superman co-chairman Karla Ogle explains that Routh had expressed interest in being a part of the Metropolis Celebration, but was unsure if his current filming schedule would allow him to make the trip. “Once we learned he could indeed travel in early June, we began finalizing the details to add him to our line-up,” Ogle said. “We are so excited that he will be here in Metropolis!”

The Science of Superman documentary included in the set was a Circuit City-exclusive with the release of Superman Returns, so this is its first wide release and also its first in HD. The Look, Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman is also seeing its first HD release here. Not only are those two in HD, but we've also learned that the never-before-seen Return to Krypton alternate opening scene from Superman Returns will be included in full HD in this set. That's a very cool and appreciated touch. Also, a number of you have asked about the audio for the Superman: The Movie BDs. The 1978 Theatrical Cut Blu-ray will have BOTH the 2000 mix in English 5.1 DTS-HD MA and also the original theatrical audio in English 2.0 DTS-HD MA. Naturally, the 2000 Expanded Edition Blu-ray will include the 2000 remixed audio in English 5.1 DTS-HD MA.

We've read the rumors, now it's official (for Europe at the moment). The entire Reeve/Routh Superman films will be released on Blu-Ray this Summer! Several years ago, this set (aka 'Kryptin') was released on regular DVD.

A definitive Superman collection. After he comes of age, young Clark Kent, as his Earth parents have named him, learns the truth of his alien birth on a voyage of discovery to the Arctic. This just in: actor Joel David Moore (tv's BONES, AVATAR), has just tweeted that he has cast Brandon Routh and Rachel Leigh Cook in his 3D directorial debut. Brandon co-starred with Moore in STUNTMEN which also starred CHUCK's Zachary Levi. They all currently play basketball together in The E League.

Excited to bring a great cast to my 3D directorial debut - @BrandonJRouth, @RachaelLCook, Jay Harrington, and Stuart Lafferty. Don't F up!

Brandon at National Service Awards

Yesterday, Brandon was one of many guests to attend the "Voices for National Service and The Corps Network Honor America's Friends of National Service." The event honors volunteerism and those who fund volunteer organizations. You may recall Brandon joined ServiceNation several years ago to donate his time for charitable causes.

Brandon, an Iowan native, was there to award Iowan Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) the Edward M. Kennedy National Service Lifetime Leadership Award for his support of increasing the federal investment in national service programs and for supporting policy changes that have strengthened these programs for years to come.

Harkin: "As Congress continues to debate the budget, it is important that we not lose sight and eliminate these critical programs that are helping so many people. And it was doubly an honor to receive this award from Brandon Routh. He is someone I am proud to call a fellow Iowan – he plays a great Superman, but he also makes a great everyman and I have the greatest respect for his sustained advocacy for national service programs in recent years."

In related news, Brandon spoke with Washington's The Hill about why he enjoys caucusing.

Pawtucket native Daniel McKinnon has been writing screenplays for more than a dozen years, but tomorrow, he’ll enjoy hearing three sweet, long-anticipated words: “that’s a wrap.” McKinnon’s film, Missing William, has been shooting on location across Rhode Island at scenic locales including Federal Hill, Portsmouth and Cranston, sites that he said has charmed the film’s stars Brandon Routh (Superman, Chuck, Zack and Miri Make a Porno), Routh’s real-life wife, actress Courtney Ford (Dexter, The Vampire Diaries), Spencer Grammer (Greek, As The World Turns) and Reid Scott (The Big C, My Boys).

By now you will have heard that Warner Bros. has decided to cast another actor for the role of Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder's reboot of the franchise.

No matter our feelings on this issue, the character of Superman will continue to live on, inspiring others to do good simply because it's the right thing to do out of the goodness that is in all our hearts. Wearing a cape doesn't make you a hero- choosing to live your life by helping other does.

Brandon Routh was plucked from obscurity nearly seven years ago to bring back a beloved character to the silver screen last played by the late Christopher Reeve, no small feat by any measure. To many, Brandon will always be Superman. He not only lived it on-screen, but off-screen as well by donating his time and energy to charitable causes and carrying himself with the dignity and morality befitting a Superman.

Please know that I do appreciate your loyalty and support after all these years and I hope you look forward to seeing what Brandon has in store for us as much as I do.

IGN has named Brandon Routh's Daniel Shaw from NBC's CHUCK Best TV Villain of 2010!

From the moment Daniel Shaw (Brandon Routh) was introduced on Chuck, audiences were poised to hate him. Who was this handsome, skilled spy, who was daring to woo Sarah away from Chuck? Early episodes with Shaw were a bit shaky, as we were asked to believe in a relationship between Shaw and Sarah that didn't quite feel earned. But it turned out Chuck creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak had a great swerve in store -- and that rather than watching the rise of a strong hero, we were seeing the creation of an uber-villain. Shaw nearly killing Sarah and Chuck's save via gunshot was a hugely satisfying moment, even as it set the stage for Shaw to return stronger than ever, now powered by his own Intersect. Finally, Chuck had the kind of dark mirror image villain that is so fun to see in geek-friendly stories of this type.

Rumored Plot Details for "Superman Returns" Sequel

IESB has released some details from Bryan Singer's alleged SUPERMAN RETURNS sequel rumored to be titled MAN OF STEEL that would have been made had the studio given it a greenlight instead of rebooting the franchise. It was widely stated that the sequel would contain more action sequences than the first installment.

TMS started just a few years after the incidents that we saw in Superman Returns. Kal-El is doing what Superman does best, Lois Lane is raising her kid Jason, who of course is Superman's child and the world is getting use to having Superman back.

Now there are storyline threads that go back to Superman Returns, one is the on going plot of Superman's original reason of going back to Krypton. He has always wondered if he truly is the last Son of Krypton.
Remember new Krypton that Lex created with crystals he stole from the Fortress of Solitude and Kryptonite that Supes launched into to space that nearly killed him?

So new Krypton continues to grow in space and has become an almost perfect sphere. It is now the size of a small moon.
