Brandon and Courtney on the Wedding

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 by Iris with 1 comments
USMagazine caught up with Brandon and Courtney recently to discuss their wedding.

Super-couple Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford are getting ready for their big day, but rather than forcing folk to fly overseas (thanks, Eva!), they are sticking close to home.

“We’re getting married in the States,” Routh, 27, who will soon be reprising his role as the Man of Steel, told Usmagazine.com during a party at Lance Bass’ Hollywood Hills home. “We’re not going to make anybody travel too far.” The couple will be getting married “in a couple of months,” says Routh, who wears an engagement ring made from a stone he got from Stonehenge, where the two got engaged. “The blue stone is part of what some of the stones at Stonehenge are made of,” he explains. “So the ring is from there but I got it encased in silver to strengthen it and it looks cool.”

As wedding preparations move forward, the pair stay grounded doing things everyone likes to do. “We make food at home and we watch movies, rent movies,” says Routh. “We talk a lot.” “We make breakfast for each other,” adds Ford, 29, who is also an actress. “Bacon and eggs, banana walnut pancakes, grapefruit juice.” “We didn’t make the grapefruit juice,” cracks Routh.

And for the honeymoon? “We’re not sure yet,” says Routh with a grin. “We’re going to surprise ourselves!”

Note: Although stated otherwise, Brandon and Courtney did not get engaged at Stonehenge. The birthday party at Bass's home was for Anna Faris's assistant.

SR2 & Lie To Me News

Updated July 11th: Variety reports Spacey is returning for MoS and Singer is pitching his idea to WB.

HollywoodReporter talked with WB CEO Alan Horn on a Superman sequel.
"If we do a sequel to 'Superman,' we want it to be less expensive," Horn acknowledges. "I have to see a screenplay before I say yes to anything. But the studio would be willing to spend as much as $175 million if the screenplay and other factors warranted it."

Still, Singer has announced that he plans to direct a second "Superman" project."
In Lie To Me news, Brandon spoke with Arizona's National Ledger about the film's potential Sundance release.
"My fiancé, Courtney [Ford], and I just got done shooting a film together in Kansas City. It's an independent film called 'Lie to Me,' which I trust will be making it to Sundance," he says of the flick expected to hit theatres sometime next year. We play ex-lovers. I come back into her life and disrupt the relationship that she's in now. It's a great little indie darling."

Superman 2 Delayed?

Monday, July 02, 2007 by Iris with 1 comments
Updated July 7th: IESB debunks the rumor.

According to RottenTomatoes, Bryan Singer's next project after Valkyrie is not the Superman sequel.
"Bryan Singer had previously told us that the "Superman Returns" sequel "Superman: The Man of Steel" would be his next film after "Valkyrie." His producers tell another story. Neil Meron and Craig Zadan have Singer lined up to direct "The Mayor of Castro Street," a story of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, within a year.
Note that this does not come from Singer himself, but rather the biopic's producers. Stay tuned.
