New Australian SR Commercial

Saturday, April 29, 2006 by Iris with 0 comments
Updated April 30th: The 2.5 MB video (SR_Coke.avi) is online now! Click on the link to save the file to your computer (divx required). Special thanks to Planet member "clone_tk422" and "shinobi." You may view screencaps and the entire spot in the gallery.

Planet forum member "supermanvillain" emailed me pictures he took off his tv of Brandon as Superman saving an aircraft in trouble from a Warner Bros. Movie World/Coca-Cola commercial on Fox 8 (it's also been seen on Channels 7 and 10) in Australia which is being played on rotation. Here is his description of the scene. Spoilers ahead.
The close-ups: he is flying over an expressway, sort of doing a barrel role. Then you see the pilots' heads fly back: this is the explosion. The tail section of the plane has blown up. He obviously hears the explosion, then he flies, grabbing the wing (fire in the back ground, flames from the tail section). He looks cool and totally in control throughout whole thing. He is very powerful and very very very cool. You won't be disappointed.
Head to the gallery to view the batch of images. Special thanks to "supermanvillain." If you can capture his appearance, email me.

Magazine Alert: "People Magazine"

Wednesday, April 26, 2006 by Iris with 0 comments
Brandon made it onto People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful people special issue.
You know him from a year as Seth on One Life to Live and a guest spot on Will & Grace. But up next: leaping tall buildings to star with Kate Bosworth in Superman Returns, out in June. So, what about the costume? "I got used to the tights pretty fast," says Routh, 26. "And when you wear a cape, you glide and flow; you become regal. I'd recommend it."
The issue goes on-sale April 28th.

Updated April 26th: The ad appears next in "Rolling Stone Magazine" on-sale May 5th.

It appears that an official press release from the Milk Mustache campaign has been released, announcing the premiere of Brandon's ad campaign. Accompanying the release is a medium-resolution photo of the aforementioned ad. You may view the ad in the highest resolution here at br.c.

The folks at the Milk Mustache campaign sent me a high resolution image of Brandon's "Got Milk?" milk mustache advertisement. The following is some information about his campaign:
Superman Fuels Up with Milk - Bryan Singer's Superman Returns brings our hero back to Earth to help combat the forces of evil. Saving the world sure isn't easy but drinking milk gives Superman calcium to get the energy and edge he needs to battle his enemies. In the midst of promoting his new role as Superman, Brandon Routh has suited up for the latest "Got Milk?"(r)/Milk Mustache campaign to help promote the June 30th release of Superman Returns. The ad debuts in May issue of "Blender" and the copy reads: "Super. That's how milk makes you feel. The calcium helps bones grow strong, so even if you're not from Krypton you can have bones of steel."

Kate Bosworth on Brandon

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 by Iris with 0 comments
Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) recently sat down with OK Magazine to talk about her Superman Returns experience. She talks a little about auditioning with Brandon and being around him as Superman. On auditioning with Brandon:
We did a scene where he played Clark Kent and then we did a scene where he was Superman. I remember standing in the audition room and we first did the scene as Clark. Brandon was fantastic and a perfectly clumsy and wonderful Clark, and then we went to the Superman scene and his whole demeanor just changed and I got totally lost in the scene with him. I remember leaving the room with him and saying: "No matter what happens, it was a real pleasure to have had this moment with you."
